New Fire Alarm System
In other news, this past spring the Center was able to install a new fire alarm system due to a grant we received from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts. The Fire Alarm System consists of multiple pull, horn and strobe alarms that will ensure all staff and children are aware of an emergency situation. Once the system was installed, the company conducted a test that included having the Leverett Fire Department come to the day care (see photo above). The fire drill went extremely well and was very interesting and exciting for the children. The live test showed that the system is operating correctly. Our facility is much safer now that there is a full Fire Alarm System installed that will alert staff and kids of an emergency situation. Further, this system now brings the HFCDC into compliance with local building code requirements. We are truly grateful to the Community Foundation for assisting us with this project!
Upcoming Fundraisers
Annual Fund Drive
In late November 2008 we sent out Annual Fund Drive letters to all current staff and families as well as alumni. Please give whatever amount you can, or consider donating a product or service to the day care. We appreciate any and all support of our program and the service we provide to the community.
GoodSearch / GoodShop
As always, please consider using GoodSearch as your on-line search engine and GoodShop as your on-line shopping "mall". Designating HFCDC as your non-profit charity is an easy way to generate revenue for our organization while doing searches/shopping you would have done anyway!
